Last week, the B5 viewing group watched "Messages from Earth", "Point of No Return", "Severed Dreams" and "Ceremonies of Light and Dark". Last night, we caught "Sic Transit Vir", "A Late Delivery from Avalon", "Ship of Tears" and "Interludes and Examinations". We had skipped "Exogenesis" because it really is an inessential episode.

Last week's episodes described the way in which the Earth Alliance was falling apart rather messily, between the alliances of its presidency and telepathic caste with aliens of tremendous power, the alienation of the colonies, and the collapse of law and order. Yesterday's episodes described some of the consequences of the Shadows' actions on a much larger scale, as Vir tries to fight against the ongoing Centauri genocides on Narn, the Shadows go after the League of Non-Aligned Worlds, and the Vorlons finally get involved. This is fun space opera, even if JMS does evidence too strong a liking for stereotyped plots.

Next week we'll have two viewing sessions, one on Monday and the next on Tuesday. With these, we'll have polished off the entire third season.
