Yesterday was a beautiful warm spring day. I'd begun to sweat under my jacket as I passed a gaggle of pubescent schoolchildren outside Atom Egoyan's failing Camera (1028 Queen Street West), but by the time I'd gotten halfway up Ossington my back was sweating such that I had to take the jacket off, cradled above my pocketed hand such that the jacket's centre of mass was secured. The wet fabric against my back felt wonderful; finally, heat for the first time in sufficient quantities.

A pleasant afternoon with [livejournal.com profile] talktooloose, starting with a drink on the patio at Kilgore's off of Bloor Street. Then down to Kensington Market. Coffee at Casa Açoreana (235 Augusta Avenue), where the scents of strong coffee and high-grade candy combined nicely. The expedition then down the street to a dry-goods store where, out of curiosity, I bought a 27-gram cube of rosewater-flavoured Turkish delight for 36 cents. I hadn't tried it before, though apparently, the clerk said, the number of has shot up since The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe came out in theatres last year. Unlike others, I can see why Edmund betrayed the Pevensies and Aslan for the White Witch's stash.

The only downside, really, was that I didn't get to feed any birds. What else can I do with my stale bread?
