[URBAN NOTE] Baby it's warm outside

Will Lake Ontario become the next Gulf of Mexico, Hamilton the next Miami? I guess I'll have to wait and find out, in the meantime enjoying this lovely spring-like environment--birds chirping, grass growing, mild wind blowing--as best as I can. The world's not melting, really, it's not.
Toronto just emerged from the warmest December on record, a month characterized by balmy days, rain showers and the lowest snowfall this city has ever seen.
Even yesterday's high of 9.2C broke a record for the warmest New Year's Day – albeit by 0.1C – giving Toronto a West Coast winter while Vancouver has been struggling with uncharacteristic cold and snow.
"We can honestly say that winter hasn't really come to the GTA and southern Ontario," said David Phillips, senior climatologist with Environment Canada.
"In the last six weeks there has been an unusual lingering warmth. We have only had two days that have actually been tough days."
