  • Far Outliers' two most recent excerpts touch upon the catastrophic failure of Tanzania's one-country socialist project in the 1970s and suggests that the brekadowns in states in the former Communist bloc and in Africa had more than timing in common.

  • Strange Maps presents the famous Pop versus Soda map of the United States. popvssoda.com suggests that "pop" is the word most commonly used in English Canada. (Is this correct, Canadians?)
