The tiles mounted at the western end of the Wallace Emerson Community Centre, on the concourse wall, were mounted as part of an art project, The Tile Project, one of "22 new public art works installed across the world: in New York, Berlin, Sarajevo, Seoul, and, now, Toronto. Each installation is designed by local artists and includes a set of tiles donated by more than 100 international artists. Thus, at each site, the tiles remain the same, but take on a new identity that underscores the importance of context in understanding works of art." Unknown Toronto counts 30 tiles per set for a total of 120, and fits this into a general project of community renewal.

Below are closeups of the four sets of tiles.
