Right here.

On a related note, [livejournal.com profile] nancylebov writes why, if you're so qualified, you should not vote for Bush.

Oh, and [livejournal.com profile] heraclitus has a fearsome rant. There's a bit on Derrida, but it's mainly about the elections.

The murder today of Dutch filmmaker and newspaper columnist Theo van Gogh, who made a controversial film about violence against women in Islamic societies (Submission) with Dutch parliamentarian and writer Ayaan Hirsi Ali has been covered extensively: see Robbert at the Head Heeb, Razib at GNXP, Dragan Antulov, and by [livejournal.com profile] arpad here on livejournal.

[livejournal.com profile] arpad's observations strike me as useful, and not only because they remind us that there is no such thing as The Universal Muslim tm. I hope that Dragan's conclusions are overly pessimistic. Myself, all that I can say is that human rights exist for everyone.

Background notes on Canada, the contemporary state of technology, and Prince Edward Island are up. Fiction to be up shortly.
