[BRIEF NOTE] Theo van Gogh

The murder today of Dutch filmmaker and newspaper columnist Theo van Gogh, who made a controversial film about violence against women in Islamic societies (Submission) with Dutch parliamentarian and writer Ayaan Hirsi Ali has been covered extensively: see Robbert at the Head Heeb, Razib at GNXP, Dragan Antulov, and by arpad here on livejournal.

arpad's observations strike me as useful, and not only because they remind us that there is no such thing as The Universal Muslim ^tm. I hope that Dragan's conclusions are overly pessimistic. Myself, all that I can say is that human rights exist for everyone.
