Selected Encounters
Jun. 5th, 2003 01:06 am- Meeting with Will Pate, Steven Garrity, and other Island bloggers at the Formosa Tea House was quite fun. It was interested to see first-hand the expansion of the Island blogosphere; I was the only livejournal representative there, but I was hardly mocked. The discussion centred upon WiFi Charlottetown, a project to establish wireless Internet connections across the downtown; side discussions included Silver Orange's hopes to move downtown, Jane Jacobs' thoughts on the need to renew downtowns, and the future of Charlottetown. Quite fun; I'll definitely make the next one, only making sure to budget more time.
- I got my latest pay stub at 2 o'clock, covering the two-week period ending in 24 May 2003. It turns out I earned more than 1000 dollars. I am definitely back in the red; I'll be paying off my VISA bill tomorrow.
- Before I went to the UPEI gym for my workout, I dropped by the English Department at UPEI to find Dr. Furlong in her office, with her husband. We chatted briefly. 'Twas nice to see her again.
