Victoria-by-the-Sea, as a glance at the map reveals, is a very compact community. Its core is a simple 2x2 square grid, Main Street being the central north-south axis and Howard Street being the central west-east axis. Walking up Main Street takes the tourist through the heart of the community, past the Island Chocolates shop and up to the Victoria Playhouse.
