I was going to post a fair bit now, but I'm exhausted. So, brief notes.

• 2046 has a review of 2046, Hong Kong director Wong Kar-Wai's latest film.


• Over at my NaNoWriMo livejournal, I've brief background notes on the setting's Soviet Union. These details will be useful mainly in the background of the events described. Three and a half years ago, I made a series of posts on soc.history.what-if concerning a Ukraine with a less gloomy 20th century history. That's this setting's Ukraine.


• The Toronto Star has an article on Belarus and its various problems under Lukashenko. A post coming tomorrow on that subject, more precisely on why everyone is reading Lukashenko and Belarus wrong as impending Russians.
