  • Steve Munro shares some photos of the first of the Canadian Light Rail Vehicles, TTC streetcars, from 1978.

  • NOW Toronto points out that Queens Quay, a popular pedestrian and biking area, does not do that good job of separating these two streams of traffic.

  • This Toronto Star review of the Cheesecake Factory, newly present in Toronto at Yorkdale, was fun to read. A dessert there might be worth trying.

Cheesecake Factory's food is not bad for shopping-mall chain food--there are dishes there I genuinely like, particularly the miso salmon--but it's not worth waiting a long time to eat there, and people do anyway.

I've found that when one opens in a mall, it tends to attract crowds like a magnet from all the other restaurants in the mall, so it can make the others much easier to eat at (at least until they shut down).

It's probably the single restaurant that is most fashionable for foodies to hate.
