A short time ago, Matthew Yglesias linked to Suburban Guerrilla's analysis of American military casualty figures. Her conclusion? That varying forms of misleading definitions of combat casualties have led to a very substantial undercount. I don't agree with all her suggestions--certain like the Mexicans buried in the Iraqi desert are bizarre--but she makes some valid points.
