1) Total number of books I've owned:
I've never counted, but I suspect that I have in excess of a thousand, here in Toronto and back in Charlottetown. Of these, several hundred are with me in Toronto. (Freight charges are high, and the amount of free space available to me low.)

2) The last book I bought:

• Ian McDonald's River of Gods.

3) The last book I read:

• I've several titles on the go, but the book physically closest to me is Donald Moffitt's 1986 Genesis Quest. It's a fun science fiction novel set 37 million years in the future in the Whirlpool galaxy, where the gentle decapodal Nar have kindly assembled humans from the nucleotides up, thanks to humans' radio transmission of their genetic and cultural information across intergalactic distances.
