[MEME] Five reasons why I'm a geek

mortonofski.
1. I know my Star Trek. Name an episode, any episode save in Enterprise, and I can place it not only within the series but within each series' plot development arc. "Yes, this is the episode late in season one when Kira was on that Bajoran moon--it helped explain a lot about her later on."
2. I read a lot of science fiction. I've a particular fondness for early hard-seeming science fiction, written by such people as Donald Moffitt and Michael Kube-McDowell. Yes, the plots are thin and the characters stereotyped and the technologies involved not actually realistic technology at all, but for all of these flaws they are still fun.
3. Sociology and anthropology are fun. I haven't engaged explicitly with these two disciplines as much as I'd like, or as much as I should, but they're really fun. Many's the night when I've curled up in bed with a nice ethnography.
4. I like roleplaying games. Do you have a problem with that? You shouldn't, but some silly prejudices are worryingly common.
5. I have a blog. Enough said.
Since I don't want to label anyone possibly unfairly, I'll leave this meme to anyone who wants to take it up. (Please?)
