I caught Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire this evening with a friend. I don't feel particularly competent to comment upon the cinematography apart from saying that director Mike Newell did a great job with shots and that the CGI was spectacular. I don't feel competent enough to comment upon the adaptation apart to note that it does have some flaws. I do notice, now that I'm two years removed from the last Harry Potter I've read (Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix), certain stereotypes in the original narrative. I can say that I enjoyed the film, though, and I can only imagine the day-long movie marathons of Harry Potter fans when the final novel in the series is transferred to film sometime in 2008.
