The UCLA science fiction group Enigma once put together its own future history, assembled more-or-less seriously through a process of collaborative gaming. There's quite a lot that they missed out on, often because they didn't consider the possibility, often because they didn't consider reality's underlying dynamics. It's good because it is a warning, in other words, but not only because of that.
