[B5] In the middle of Season 4

rfmcdonaldFive episodes last night: "Lines of Communication", "Conflicts of Interest", "Rumors, Bargains, and Lies", "Moments of Transition", and "No Surrender, No Retreat".
Even when the episodes are good--and these five episodes are all good, there's no question about that--their storylines are compressed. If only JMS had been able to explore the Earth and Minbari civil wars at greater length, they might have gotten the extended exploration that they deserved. Instead for fear of cancellation JMS had to accelerate the storyline unnaturally. He did a good job with what he had, but had he more he'd have done more.
