finfin and others. On this occasion, spoken word artist Dwayne Morgan was featured, followed by some open-mike performers, most of whom were forgettable apart from one guy who read a nicely imagistic poem about Newmarket in the First World War. Morgan himself gave a good performance, though certain overly glib phrasings reminded me that spoken word is at least as much about performance as it is about the innate elegance of the language. Good times; also, good nachos.
