The morning workout with choreo_m went well. It's nice to have a workout partner, I think; it keeps you honest. I'll have to do it more often.

Back to the academic front: I'm feeling better now that I know about Impostor Syndrome. (Thanks, James!) Plus, Dr. Dasgupta agreed to write a letter of reference to me, which is good news. I've got an award-winning English professor with a fair number of published articles and poetry and the multiply-published head of the Sociology-Anthropology department at UPEI being willing to write me letters of recommendation: Even if I'm bad at internally recognizing my achievements, this external validation goes a long way to compensating for this.

I bumped into an interesting discussion in the political science lounge just after noon. Briefly put, it was a debate on the question of whether or not love at first sight is possible (I argued that it was, though it would be a relatively uninformed love) and whether love was nature versus nurture (I argued that love generally is instinctual, but the particular expressions of love are culturally defined). Quite fun. Met some interesting people there.

Looking forward to the Harp & Thistle tonight.
