[BRIEF NOTE] The Dangers of Blogging

rfmcdonaldA Fistful of Euros' Guy reports that blogger Catherine Sanderson, the writer of the award-winning blog Petite Anglaise, has been fired from her job because of her blog's contents.
I'm reminded, here, of last summer's controversy (as outlined by Daniel Drezner) about an article in the Journal of Higher Education by a member of a hiring committee who disqualified bloggers because of their blogging. Drezner, it should be noted, failed to get tenure at the University of Chicago.
I wonder if I would have chosen to blog anonymously back in the day if I'd had any idea. Foolish thoughts, these; my die is cast.
