[URBAN NOTE] Strike a pose
Sep. 9th, 2006 12:12 amWalking south down the west side of Augusta Avenue in Kensington Market one fine Saturday night, we saw a heterosexual couple in their 40s walking south down the east side of Augusta. He, tall and thin with a narrowed seamed face, looked like a cowboy: jeans, ruffled shirt, cowboy hat.
Behind us, a couple about to head into a restaurant took out a digital camera and snapped a photo. He saw the flash and turned around. His partner cursed him and called him a loser, stalking down as he turned and walked towards the restaurant-goers.
- Give me the fucking camera! he yelled.
- What camera? one of them giggled.
He stood there, in the middle of the street, for a few long moments before he turned around. We could hear him muttering.
