altariel for linking to Abigail Nussbaum's very interesting examination of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, "Back Through the Wormhole" (1, 2). Nussbaum is quite right to point out that Deep Space Nine's earlier pre-Dominion seasons were quite strong, not least because of those season's emphasis on exploring Bajor in depth. Let's not forget that, yes, Kira Nerys kicks ass.
