[LINK] On possible contradictions between libertarianism and zombie-fighting

Over at his blog, John J. Reilly has a very readable post that explores, among other things, the hostility of some zombie fans to the heavy involvement of government in defending humanity against the zombies in books like World War Z. (The script for the upcoming film version, Reilly reports, will be written by Babylon 5's J. Michael Strazcynski.)

Question: Am I correct in assuming that zombies are to popular culture now what vampires were a decade ago?
