680 News lets us know about the record that Toronto breached today.

In the month known for rain, Toronto surpassed an almost 60-year-old rainfall record, Friday afternoon.

The official report, as of 2 p.m. Friday, had the rainfall in Toronto at 26.6 mm's from Pearson Airport, beating the previous rainfall record made in 1950 of 20.8 mm's.

Areas outside of Toronto reached as much as 38 mm's of rain.

The Toronto and Area Conservation Authority has reminded everyone to keep children and pets away from waterways.
