I see too many ads like this around Toronto for me to have ever been comfortable with the idea of Shakespeare venturing outdoors.

Never mind the fact that Shakespeare is still barely over one years old. It comes down to a matter of cat demographics for me. If cats can live to an age of 5 in the wild, while a female cat can produce a litter of three to five kittens up to your times a year, why are there not more cats around? Mortality.

Thankfully, besides having an apartment that's decidedly cat proof, Shakespeare must have been among the more timid kittens in the litter. Even if he had human-level intelligence and was polydactyl, I doubt that he'd want to leave.
