[H&F] On the singularity, the real one (1)

I've a post up at History and Futility taking a look at the science fiction concept of the singularity, a point past which rapid change will accelerate to create a world unrecognizable to us early 21st century types. I disagree with the concept, but not entirely. Why? We've gone through a singularity already.
