Growing up on a Prince Edward Island cooled by the North Atlantic Ocean, I was accustomed to a particular stable climate regime: heavy snow and temperatures in the minus twenties and minus thirties Celsius in winter, a cool spring gradually warming up with fairly heavy rain, a stable summer with temperatures in the low to mid 20s, and then a gradual stable decline. Since I spent nearly all my time on PEI, and in adjacent regions of Atlantic Canada, I'd expected that to be normal.

Then I went to the mainland, eventually to live in the easternmost region of the North American Midwest that is Ontario. Things are much different, even with the general warming of winter. Summer's the most notable difference, with the 30s with high humidity that are so rare on Prince Edward Island being normal. I've acclimated, I've grown to like it even, but I also liked the weather today, in the low 20s with just the right level of humidity and without too much sun. It reminded me of home.

This blog has a fairly worldwide readership. The world is big, and, contra some ill-research science fiction, it has many diverse climates. What's the climate like in your part of the world? Is it a change for you? What do you like?
