[CAT] Cat Map
Mar. 7th, 2013 02:40 pmI was alerted by a post at Crasstalk to the existence of the ZSL London Zoo's online Cat Map. You can put your cats on maps! (I did Shakespeare.) The purpose of it was described by Londonist's Rachel Holdsworth.
To while away the time until ZSL London Zoo’s new Tiger Territory opens (about three weeks), they’re asking Londoners to add their cats to a Cat Map.
The map mimics techniques used by conservationists recording the numbers and locations of animals in the wild. Upload a photo of your feline, add its age, gender and a description (favourite treat? Favourite place to nap? Your favourite item of clothing that it’s shredded?) plus your postcode and help create what the Zoo hopes will be a comprehensive survey of the capital’s mogs. They’ve already added profiles for Jae Jae and Melati, two highly endangered Sumatran tigers, and now they want the little cats too.
