An irony for my readers: The week after I upgrade to a paid account is one of my quietest weeks.

Work at the library is interesting, as always. We've gotten a new desk; unfortunately, we aren't getting new shelving for books in transit and books on hold, and so we have to take the popular fiction rack and two carts out of commission. Which wouldn't be so bad, except that without the popular fiction rack our statistics go down and so reduce our claim to financing, and we're somewhat short of carts as is. I'm not complaining about my job. It is true to say that now more than ever it's full of exciting challenges for the professional.

Tuesday, I ran into George and chatted with him. I know him from Main building, if not very well. It turns out he'll be going to Yucatán for a few weeks this month, hoping to do some volunteer work.

I'm working on completing a few more writing projects.

My student loan application is being held up by the province's procedures. Queen's is taking its time in forwarding to the responsible provincial bureau the official breakdown of my costs. I shouldn't need the money. Still, it's bothersome.

Life, in brief, is quiet.
