Recent stuff
Dec. 16th, 2003 06:28 pmIt was fun to wander throughout downtown Charlottetown this afternoon. I stopped by the library to say hello to my former co-workers and to take out a couple of books (Pratchett and the latest Harry Potter).
Afterwards, I paid my VISA bill from my line of credit (yes, I know) and then went to The Book Emporium, a nice little used book store. There, I found the book SpaceWreck: Ghostships and Derelicts of Space. I'd last encountered this books in junior high school, when I read versions translated into French. The three non-derivative titles in the Terran Trade Authority series were actually available at this bookstore, but just before I bought them someone else had gotten to them and I'd never been able to identify the series. I am now, of course, and I've ordered Spacecraft 2000-2100, A.D. from Amazon. I then stopped off at The Comic Hunter to pick up my reserved copy of High Frontier.
Lunch was at the Formosa Tea House, of course. I was lucky enough to run up with tudor_rose, Jen, and Alanna as they were leaving, chatting briefly. Interesting times will definitely be ahead.
Apart from books, on the musical front, recently I've gotten from Amazon a remix album of Yoko Ono's "Walking on Thin Ice", and Mom (long-time Beatles fun) is suitably shocked and horrified at her son's musical taste. Laibach's W.A.T.. Both are quite good, of course, Laibach more than Ono:
Eins, Zwei, Drei, Vier
Meine freunde, tanz mit mir
You gotta love those Slovenians.
LSAT and assorted other academic preparations go well, I think. Right now, I'm just relaxing.
(Oh, and it's good to know that my new image seems to work.)
