I cancelled my TA office hours today because I was concerned about my eyes. The conjuntivitis hasn't been very effectively treated by the eye drops recommended to me by the doctor, instead spreading to my left eye. Rather more worrisome than that was my deteriorating vision.

So, I went to the Health Centre at a quarter after one, quickly saw a nurse, then got to see a doctor an hour later. Following some testing that included the uncomfortable (more than painful) injection of dye onto the surface of my eyes, the doctor came to the conclusion that it was still a viral infection, not bacterial. (The drop in visual acuity, in the meantime, can be explained by the increased pressure on my eye from the infection.) I got some new eye drops, and was told to see the doctor again in two days' time if it doesn't begin to clear up.

This isn't fun. I can be sure, at least, that I won't go blind, if only because as a MA English student my academic career would be next to impossible. There isn't nearly enough English literature in Braille, least not from the medieval and early modern periods.
