The National Post features an article by Jake Edmiston looking at a terrible double shooting on Prince Edward Island I noted in April. From his account, it looks as if the mooted feud was all in the head of the killer.

Alfred Vuozzo sat, alone, in St. Mary’s Church, near the altar where the sunlight comes in tinted blue by the stained glass. The priest saw him there, but was on his way to a funeral, and didn’t have time to ask Vuozzo what might be on his mind.

So Vuozzo sat in a knotty pine pew, thinking, as the ceiling fans tried to blow away the August heat.

Father Gerard Chaisson has had more than 10 months to think about that moment.

“I wonder what was on his mind then,” Father Gerard says. “I suppose, if I let myself go, there might be some guilt. But I don’t want to go there.”
