Today was a wash. I didn't get to look at PEI student loan information (I do need that money, incidentally), I didn't post reviews of The Passion and some excellent books I've been reading lately, I didn't get to write about Freihafener economics and politics, I didn't have supper, I didn't update my resume--but then, I can claim the legitimate excuse of being sick. At least I did pick up the essays for English 269. Most of the essays do look reasonably good; I shouldn't have to be as harsh as I was last time I had this group of students, since presumably they've learned since then.

Vomiting up a nice piece of strawberry/chocolate cheesecake bought at the Sleepless Goat is never fun. It's a minor irony, I suppose, that just as I've picked up a ventolin inhaler (to keep my airways open) and Tylenol-3 (to kill the pain), things have gotten decidedly worse. Still, at least the drugs are kicking in. (Ah, sweet sweet drugs. I think that I know why people get addicted to Tylenol-3.)

I'll be going to the Merchant MacLiam as part of the East Coast Club at Queen's weekend festivities. The barbecue and Highland Games will be things I won't be able to attend, unfortuantely, while my Tylenol-3 usage will mean I won't be drinking given my dislike for overdoses. On the plus side, I'll get the T-shirt I ordered, and lobster will be nice.

And, as if to ensure that I'm busy tonight, the E-GRADSL mailing list for English graduate students which I moderate is under attack from a Beagle variant virus. Explaining that, no, I'm not able to do anything about the virus is unfun.
