This morning, at 10 o'clock, I was awoken by a telephone call from Statistics Canada. In late 2001, I was recruited into a Youth in Transition survey focusing on post-secondary students on the verge of joining the work force. I found it interesting to go over my past answers and provide new updates, just because. I was reminded, after I hung up, about the perhaps-apocryphal factoid that Japanese liked being surveyed and polled since it made them feel wanted.

Right now, I'm just writing and doing work at the office. (Actually, I'm using the public-access computers in a bit of a break, but you won't tell, will you?) Here is an interesting article on Haitian-American author Edwidge Danticat from the Miami Herald, as is this article from the international edition of the Helsinkin Sanomat about the likelihood of low emigration from the new EU member-states to the current EU-15 and Christianity Today's surprisingly objective survey of Arab Christians in the US. I'll post something tonight, hopefully.
