• My CAT scan yesterday was anticlimactic. I lay down on the bed; a heavy (either lead or dense plastic) apron was placed on my lap to guard against radiation-induced infertility or other problems; and I went under the scanner, watching the lights, breathing and holding my breath when I was told by the machine's scratchy recorded voice. I should get the results next week.


• I had a haircut today. My hair's been trimmed back, possibly more than I'm comfortable with, but it grows back quite quickly. My goatee looks shorter, and somewhat more symmetrical, at least.
