[NON BLOG] Evening Review
May. 22nd, 2004 12:58 amI wasn't impressed with Chez Piggy. I got there at a quarter after 8, a few minutes after most of the others had arrived. The service was good; the waitress was excellent. The problem, though, lay with the kitchen, which only took our orders at 8:45, and only began delivering the food at 9:30. I ordered the somewhat expensive table d'hôte. I liked the artichoke hearts, found the steak to be indifferently prepared and served with too much of an olive garnish, appreciated the garlic marshed potatoes and vegetables, and really liked the kir royale and the white chocolate mousse pie. All said, though, Chez Piggy was too expensive to be worth it.
For that matter, the evening was a bit of a wash socially. I was able to actually talk to a guy I've been chatting with for the past few months, but I generally felt like I was on the outside looking in--everyone else already knew each other, making it very difficult to get in.
Ah well. It was decent enough a night. Now, to bed.
