I watched the Buffy episode "Selfless" last night, and I was quite favourably impressed. I like Anya--also known as the demon Anyanka, also known as the Dark Ages-era Swedish peasant woman Aud--a lot more, now. She was always literal-minded, even before she became a demon; indeed, she became a demon because she was socially awkward. She was a good demon, too--her role in 1905 Russia was quite interesting, and her apparent Marxist sympathies funny (particularly given Emma Caulfield's real-life Republican sentiments). All of it driven by her pervasive identity crises.

All in all, an excellent episode. Five for five, to date
