[NON BLOG] The AGO
Jun. 27th, 2004 06:48 pmI've just come back from spending four and a half fun hours at the Art Gallery of Ontario with
thehollow and
echomyst.
We went to the Turner-Whistler-Monet exhibition, followed by a visit to the exhibition of the audiovisual works of Vancouver artist Rodney Graham and finally a séjour at the gallery gift shop. I was particularly taken by the nocturnes of Whistler, painted or etched so delicately. In contrast, Graham's works, though technically well-done and all, seemed to lack a point. And yes, you can tell that I'm not a modernist in art, as a rule at least.
