While walking down Yonge Street below Bloor, I noticed that down to Wellesley the street was closed off. It turned out that film crews were stationed there, shooting a remake of Kojak. The street was reconfigured to look American, perhaps particularly inner-city American. Thus, cars bearing the insignia of the NYPD were brought onto the street, vast quantities of garbage were strewn in heaps on the sidewalks, and American flags were set hanging from streetposts and traffic signs. Toronto provided its own street people, though.
