Rules:

- Leave a comment saying you want to be interviewed.
- I'll reply and give you five questions to answer.
- You'll update your LJ with the five questions answered.
- You'll include this explanation.
- You ask other people five questions when they want to be interviewed.

1 Is your relationship with your family a positive one? Are you satisfied with it?

I'd say that my relationship with my family is positive, inasmuch as I'm satisfied with it.

2 Do you believe that one's life should be primarily characterized by one's obligations to others, with pleasures being taken in matters that are indifferent to those obligations; or rather as primarily characterized by enjoyment and indulgence, with obligations arising from a prioritization of the enjoyment we derive from the company and cooperation of others; or are enjoyments and obligations of equal priority, or do you think of it some other way altogether?

Ideally, the enjoyments and obligations would be combined. Failing that, my personal preference would be to adequately balance enjoyments against obligations, aiming for some sort of satisfying golden mean that allowed me to avoid both excessive orgiastic pleasure and excessive dedication to service to others at my own expense. I'd like to think that the answer would be similar for other people, but I can't come to any conclusions.

3 If you were to die tonight, would you be satisfied that you'd said everything you had to say to everyone in your life? Would you regret having failed to say something?

I'm fairly confident with my standing relative to other people, at least confident enough to say that most everything I want to say I've said. I suppose, then, that I wouldn't face that particular regret. Others, certainly.

4 What's your honest opinion of me, personally?

I think you're a smart and personable person who dresses well and who's a good person to know. I disagree with you on some issues, but I don't think that you disagree with me out of spite and/or an inherently amoral or immoral nature.

5 What five questions do you wish someone would ask you? (This one's too good not to ask again.)

1. What do you want to do with your future?

2. Where do you see yourself in a decade's time? Really.

3. What the hell is your sexual orientation?

4. If you had absolute power unchallenged by any limits, what would be the first thing that you'd do?

5. What would be your ideal death?
