[NON BLOG] First Day of Work
Sep. 2nd, 2004 05:48 pmI got to work at the Indigo above Yonge and Eglinton ten minutes late, I'm ashamed to admit. I'd underestimated the amount of time it would get to there from Little Portugal. Fortunately, I still have the job.
The terms are quite decent. I have to buy steel-toed shoes, but I'll get 85 dollars reimbursement for that. I do now have a 30% discount on regularly-priced items, and I can also borrow durable books for up to two weeks. Plus, the promise of a pay review in three months, and other reviews every twelve months after that.
The work--in receiving--is fairly easy. The details are potentially the killer, but the general structure of the work is familiar to me from my library work. My co-workers are good, too.
I'm very, very pleased.
