When my parents recently visited Toronto, one place we decided to visit was Toronto's last Zellers. My June 2015 post describing my visit to south Etobicoke's Kipling-Queensway Mall and its time-stranded Zellers is one of the most popular posts on my blog, and the subject remains of interest to Torotonians at large. The first photo in this series was featured in a post at r/toronto.
I'm glad that the mall is still around, in all of its vintage 1970s or 1980s glory. The comparison the reditor made with the Galleria Mall is, I think, pretty head-on: this is an enclave of shopping culture in Toronto that has survived generations. I'm also glad the Zellers is still around, still active if only as a place the HBC can send old discounted clothes. The Zellers brand was iconic for my generation, and there really are some good deals here. (Be warned, mind, that the sizes tend towards the small.)
