4. Kenney sees the improvement of public transit in Albertan cities as a threat to his main backers. Therefore, measures like this were in the works from day one of his campaign to become premier. Promises he never intended to admit to until it was too late for Edmonton and Calgary to avoid his keeping them at those cities' expense. The relationship is as toxic as between Ford and Toronto, after its own fashion.

5. I'm mildly surprised that New Westminster isn't in the red along with Delta, Richmond, the main airport, etc..

And managed retreat is going to be a problem of logistics and trauma psychology, isn't it?

What about Vancouver Island? I have friends and relatives there too. I suspect that one of those is going to lose their house if they don't sell it...
