[URBAN NOTE] Sights While Returning Home Tonight

• Walking just south of the Tornoto Reference Library on Yonge Street, I saw a black convertible pull a U-turn on the wet street, nearly hitting another car. The aggrieved car's driver blew his horn for almost a minute, right until the convertible turned west onto Yorkville.


• On the platform waiting for the westbound subway, I saw and heard a tall blonde woman in her 20s who looked vaguely like Sarah Jessica Parker, with faint Valley Girl accent: "I just can't help being so mean," she explained to her brunette friend.


• Waiting for the Dufferin bus southbound, I caught sight of schizmatic preparing to descend, complete with Wal-Mart goods, into the subway. Toronto's a microcosm.
