I'm not the first person to take note of Michel Houellebecq's essay on H.P. Lovecraft (complete works here). Whoever came up with the idea of Houellebecq on Lovecraft should be congratulated, since the French writer's detached misanthropy makes him the perfect commentator on Lovecraft.
