[BRIEF NOTE] A Trend in Historical Fiction

This morning, I disposed of mystery paperbacks which featured Jane Austen and Louisa May Alcott as detectives. Is it a new trend for writers to compose mystery novels featuring historical authors as crime-solvers, or have I missed things?
