The Chinese perception of the United States was a theme of CFTAG this Sunday just past. Back in July, I blogged about the Canadian perception of American annexationism. It was interesting to see how, in both cases, people who had been talking past each other were just beginning to realize how they sounded. I hesitate to be derivative by saying that more people need to talk to each other across national frontiers, but 'tis so.
