Nicole Lindstrom and Maple Razsa's "Reimagining the Balkans" takes a look at stereotypes of Balkanity are used in Croatia. Croatian nationalists have recently presented their nation as European, as different from and better than "the Balkans." The reactions of Croats to the Western classification of Croatia as a Balkan nation are interesting. Some of them are even creatively productive.
