I was heading home on the Dufferin bus southbound, as usual. There was a gang of four friends on the bus, three guys and one girl, chatting and laughing and talking about a building with a Cadillac in its side. One of the guys was sitting to my left; the others were sitting on the aisle opposite me, boy-girl-boy.

She was a Julianne Moore type in her early 20s, straight hair and a strong face, with a big gap between her front teeth. Friendly-like, she draped her arms around the shoulders or her two friends.

- I like doing this, she said. Otherwise, if I'm on the subway, I have to do like this.

She put her arms down in front of her, palms turned up and splayed away from her body.

- It makes me feel weird, like Jesus.
