From The Globe and Mail:

Mohamed ElBaradei and the International Atomic Energy Agency that he heads won the 2005 Nobel Peace Prize Friday for their efforts to prevent the proliferation of nuclear weapons.

Mr. ElBaradei, an Egyptian lawyer, has headed the UN nuclear agency as it grappled with the crises in Iraq and the ongoing efforts to prevent North Korea and Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.

Wouldn't it have been more appropriate to give the IAEA the prize if it had managed to stop the spread of nuclear weapons? Not that anyone can at this stage, not really, but this just goes towards my point.
