[MUSIC] The Classic Alternatives series
Oct. 26th, 2005 03:05 pmI own discs 2 and 3 from the Classic Alternatives series of New Wave and alternative music from the 1980s. Talk Talk, Ultra Vox, Romeo Void, Pete Shelley, Visage, even Strange Advance--all manner of rarely heard but decent bands I heard for the first time through these CDs.
I treasured these CDs when I bought them, from a remaindered bin in a music store in the Charlottetown Mall, for $9.99 each years ago. These CDs, and their decidedly non-traditional and non-mainstream music, proved to me that there was a world outside. No wonder that I'm so fond of New Wave.
